"Sometimes you look at something and wonder how it can work, a bag full of bits that can be so effectual, don’t be mislead. Easily installed in minutes, the lock is one of those things you wonder how you have done without for so long. We installed two CG locks for the Passenger Laps at Castle Combe, and every one of the passengers was securely held in place for their time in the car. No movement even when they were not able to reach the footwell / bulkhead.
As a driver, its the closest thing to a full harness without the restrictions. Lap after lap I did not move and felt more attached to the car than ever.
Further two days at Spa had me more convinced than ever that these trick little locks are a must for road and especially track.
Many thanks to CG Lock, it is something I ensure is always fitted to whatever I am driving…."

"After purchasing a CG Lock and fitting it to my Vauxhall Vectra Sri, I was sceptical that such an easy device to fit could actually help me find some relief from the Lower Back Pain I have endured for years. The fact that this little device both secures me into my seat and keeps me in the correct posture position has given me in less than two weeks a 50% improvement from the pain I suffered after driving. It has also taught me to sit in a correct position when out of the car. If you have not yet purchased a CG Lock I certainly recommend you do."

"I bought my CG Lock recently and have enjoyed the extra control that it gives me. Its a great little device that makes driving a more enjoyable experience, and even with sports seats it adds value by keeping me secure in my seat, allowing me to focus more on driving and less on bracing myself. Without changing my seats and getting harnesses, this is the next best thing (& a lot more cost effective !). Thx for a great product."

"Hope your excellent CG-Locks continue to fly off the shelves: the Lock in my M5 worked very well under significant load at the ‘Ring recently! It’s also clear the CG Lock maintains good posture by preventing slumping in the seat which can only reduce back ache and related problems.
I attach a pic of a somewhat faster car I drove at Spa two weeks ago [shown above]."

"I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the CG-Locks. I bought them for my Porsche 968CS but decided to try one in my sensible, daily-use car, a Honda CR-V. It’s a car which has to work hard for its living (see the attached picture) and go anywhere. I noticed on a recent 100-mile trip to the Scottish Borders that it seemed to be cornering more sharply than usual. At first I put it down to the slightly wider tyres recently fitted but then realised it was actually the CG-Lock that was making such a difference. The seats are not very supportive so brisk cornering has never been its forte, but the CG–Lock makes the car feel much sharper because it holds you firmly in the seat. I suspect it’s more comfortable on long, motorway journeys too. Thanks again for a great product. I might just get one for my daughter to use with her elder child’s booster seat."

"I have suffered with lower back pain for many years and I find that the CG Lock helps maintain a better posture by not allowing you to slouch in the seat. I have used it on trips into Europe and get to the end of the journey with much less discomfort than usual. On track the difference in being able to control the car is remarkable as you can concentrate on the corner and not on hanging onto the wheel as you slide across the seat."

"I am used to racing cars with full harness set ups so was sceptical about how a small item like the CG-Lock could benefit me on track days in my road car. It turns out, I was very wrong! The CG Lock keeps me tightly within the seat without trouble. The best compliment I can give it is that you can’t even feel it is even there, which is exactly what you want when driving. I thought I would need to get some harnesses for my car but after trying the CG Lock I’ll be pocketing the change!"

"Just about recovered from the ‘Ring trip and have also managed to squeeze in a trackday also since! My thoughts regarding the CG Lock (you’ve probably heard them all before!):
- Very simple to fit
- Innovative design
- Functional - Really pulls you into the seat securing lower body which allows great feel for the car, essential in a rear wheel drive vehicle as big as the 350 as it enables better communication from the rear tyres
- Excellent for day to day journeys also- I find myself sitting more up right in the seat which in turn stops my low back aching at all
Overall I would recommend this product to any of my friends that drive- full stop. If they are enthusiastic drivers on the road or take part in track days then all the better as the benefits apply even more in those situations."

"After months of badgering I took my son Harry (see photo) to the Nurburgring. We did some slow laps to give him an idea of what being on a race track but it became apparent very quickly that with his booster seat the seat belt did not hold the lap belt tight enough. I bought the CG Lock for myself to use on track days and found that it held me in position almost as well as the harnesses do in my Lotus Exige. I also tried them with my son again and the lock just works perfectly holding him and the booster seat in place. I was that impressed that I purchased another for my daughter who also uses a booster seat. With the CG Lock in place they are secured securely in their boosters seats and do not move around. More importantly the booster seats themselves do not move or tilt as they sometimes do going around roundabouts. I would recommend this device to anyone that does track days without harnesses and parents with small children."

"I have now been driving with the CG Lock system in place on my Boxster for about a year. I have a complaint to make and that is that I feel insecure and vulnerable now when I am using a normal system without the CG Lock! It will sell itself in two minutes flat!"

"Hanging on to the steering wheel, while sliding around on leather seats is an accident waiting to happen… it seriously spoils a fast lap or a good blast in the mountains for that matter. "A little device; a little money; a lot of benefit!
The CG-lock is a must for track-drivers and fast-road (within the legal limit!) drivers alike. This clever little device locks the driver’s body into the seat without the fuss and expense of full harnesses. Once the driver is locked-in, the lateral movement caused by fast cornering is hardly evident, even at high speeds. This allows the driver to concentrate on controlling the vehicle rather than the distraction caused when rolling around in the seat. Besides corning, the device is invaluable when driving quickly over an undulating road. Since the driver is locked in, his feet never lose contact with the pedals when riding bumps in the road allowing complete control when accelerating and braking. This improves the driving experience but perhaps more importantly to some, also makes driving safer.
As a company CG-Lock’s customer services and personal touch are second to none. I have never witnessed support like it with any sort of commercial experience."

"Dear CG Lock Team, I own and run a 410bhp Misubishi Lancer Evolution VIII. After extensive modifications I was planning to add a set of sabelt 4 point FIA harnesses so that I could safely enter the trackday world. I am sure you will agree that cars with this level of power and handling are not always ideal road cars, however my mind was set. Until that is, a good friend of mine mentioned the CG-Lock. I am part of the Mitsubishi Lancer Register and whilst eager to try I sometimes am a little apprehensive of new products until I have seen with my own two eyes. Well I missed the group buy and then tried my friends CG-Lock and was very impressed. As an engineer with 16 years Oilfield manufacturing experience, I instantly saw the product detail and clever functionality - so that was it - harness safety without the hassle. I bought my first CG-Lock in December 2007 and am back for more and have also advised a number of friends to do the same.
This year in May I will visit the Nurburgring and Spa Francorchamps, it is in these arenas that I hope to see the best from the unit.
Impressions at the moment;
- Improved posture - bucket seats give me back ache - my driving experience has improved since the addition of the CG Lock
- Better car control through the tight and twisties since I am now firmly held in place
- Obvious safety benefit in an impending accident - God forbid !!!
- Excellent build quality and finish - clearly designed to last the lifetime of this car and many more
I am sold - Thankyou CG Team, I look forward to giving you further business now and in the future….
PS - I need another 3… for my Evo and also 2nd vehicle!!!"

"After reading all the available information about the CG-Lock, I still wondered whether this small device could provide all the benefits listed.
Well, the simple answer is YES IT DOES!
Since installing and using the CG-Lock in my Mondeo, not only am I kept firmly in my driving seat, it has improved my driving pleasure (something that is rare in today’s world of driving in the UK) and it has improved my back posture and consequently, I no longer suffer back pain after extended driving. I would unreservedly recommend the CG-Lock to both friends and family, and I plan to purchase several more so that I can equip my vehicle fully, and pass on its benefits to all passengers in the vehicle."

"I am writing to tell you of the amazing difference I found in the control over my car while driving with the CG-Lock fitted.
I have been thinking of fitting an after market seats in the front of my M3 for track days and blasts to the ‘Ring’. This is no longer a requirement, as with the CG-Lock fitted and adjusted as you explain in the fitting instructions, I am held in the correct posture in my standard fit sports seats. After reading the magazine reviews and feed back from your site and others, I was still sceptical, but now I am a 100% convert. I agree any car that has any sporting tendencies should have these fitted as standard. I feel on any trackday, all cars entered should be fitted with CG-Locks to at least the drivers seat belt, as the driver can concentrate on what is going on outside the car, rather that struggling to stay put inside it.
I have always suffered from back ache after a long journey, this weekend after returning from the WTCC meeting at Brands Hatch and the 200 mile round trip involved, not a sign of back ache. I noticed at all times I had great posture without having to regularly lift myself in the seat to regain my posture.
My car is a 1995 BMW M3 Saloon which I have kept as near as standard as possible and with the CG-Locks fitted this will still be possible. I think the standard leather sports seat look far better than any after market seats. With the CG-Locks fitted, I and the front seat passenger can keep our posture allowing us to stay far more alert and concentrated on the drive, as back ache and movement in the seat are taken care of by the CG-Lock."

"I’ll keep this short and sweet..the CG-Lock is a must!! Having completed 8 laps on The ‘Ring with it fitted, it really does do what it “says on the can”! The hips are firmly held in place allowing for a more stable driving position thus a better drive without having to brace the body using the steering wheel in fast bends. The steering wheel isn’t an extra which aids body stability, the CG-Lock gives the driver the opportunity to drive the car!!"

"5 minutes to read/digest the well written instructions. Fitted in minutes. Pulled the CG-Lock tight as instructed and the 1st impressions as I set off down the road was not sure what all the fuss is about. Then I went on a sprited drive down some private twisty roads. Now I know what all the fuss is about. Fantastic. Holds you firm in the seat and no movement from the hips."

"I finally got out with a CG-Lock at the weekend in my 350z. What a difference! The car I knew and loved suddenly felt like a blunt instrument. The already detailed steering feel came alive and it was as if the whole balance of the car changed! I could corner harder, drift longer and I even found the position seating MORE comfortable on my lower back! While it’s no 6 point harness it’s better than I could have imagined."

"I had 2 CG-Locks fitted in the car in no more than 10 minutes.
I bought a couple of these for my Toyota Supra mkIV, and as it has leather seats it is possible to slide around a little while driving, and especially during
some ’spirited’ driving!
All I can say is, WOW! No seat retrims and no new expensive suspension set-ups necessary. Just set the CG Lock to fit you, and what a difference it makes! You do feel part of the car, and it seems like the car handles much better, and more like a smaller sports car than I’d even believe possible. Highly recommended!"

"Excellent… the CG-Locks work fantastic. Even though I have sports seats and high bolsters at the sides the addition of the CG-Lock works perfectly together. The CG-Lock pulls you into the seat making you feel very secure and safe, because you still have full movement of the upper part of your body you don’t feel trapped as you would with a full race harness. I have also fitted one to the passenger seatbelt, so when things start getting enthusiastic around the corners and twisty bits (always within the law mind) passengers comfort isn’t spoilt so they have as much fun as the driver, to which in my mind is important as driving should be fun. With the CG-Locks holding you in place driving is even more fun. I didn’t want to spoil the look of the interior with a race harness, and the CG-Locks are very discreet but an excellent piece of kit.
We are going on the Furball 5000 in July and I cannot wait to try the CG-Locks on the roads we will be driving on. I will try to video the experience whilst we are driving on the twisty’s whilst using the CG-Locks just to prove how good they are to anyone who wants to know."

"I bought a CG-Lock at Rallyday Castle Combe. My car is my dream ride, a 911 Turbo (996 model), which is absolutely sensational in every way… …except one: the (optional) "sports" seats actually provide remarkably little lateral support and after 2 years of hanging on to the steering wheel in corners and increasing reticence to enjoy the car’s performance as a result, I had begun to look around for replacement seats. This was going to be a very expensive exercise, but absolutely necessary, such was the ruinous effect of these inadequate seats. On seeing the CG-Lock advertised I immediately realised that for a very small outlay, this may just cure the Achilles Heel of my car."
"The results have been everything I could hope for: now there is no more hanging on to the wheel, no more slipping across the leather seat and the impression of significant understeer is gone. I feel hugely more connected with th car: it seems to pivot about me now and I never knew that the front tyres could grip so enormously! The experience is tranformed and I can honestly say that CG-Lock has perfected my dream car and I feel very happy at finally having a car that has NO weaknesses at all. Thanks very much."

"I love mine and use it on every trip, really holds me in and you can really feel it working in the twisties. It just makes me feel secure. I have heavy duty anti roll bars on my car so it corners flat and the GC lock really helps to keep me pinned, I cant find enough corners to go round."

"I have a device called a CG Lock fitted to my Merc, and I have to say that it has been somewhat revelatory. I am not quite sure about the claim ( http://www.cg-lock.co.uk/ ) that this is ‘like a harness’, but the simple act of locking 80% of your weight in position (legs, trunk) doesn’t half make a spirited drive easier, with a more reliable pivot for the arms/ shoulders (which are unrestrained, as that part of the inertia system works unimpeded). It is remarkably simple in use, and very reassuring. Using it loose now (effectively ‘off’) feels distinctly odd.
This is true even in the ‘AMG’ seats, which are very heavily bolstered. In my old Soarer, I had a full 4-point harness combined with OMP seats, which was very nice, if somewhat impractical. I am getting a new Soarer, and will be able to keep the standard seats for track work once I fit one of these things.
The biggest effect comes from being aware of how much my trunk used to move about during driving. Even on a trip to work, through Milton Keynes’ roundabouts, I tighten it down for comfort as much as anything.
Can’t recommend it highly enough."

"I fitted the CG-Lock to my 1998 M3 last week in anticipation of the BMW CCA Driving School at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA. Installation was simple from the clear instructions and took only a few minutes (even with an interruption from my wife). Use of the CG-Lock is equally simple and intuitive, another good thing because I did not have a chance to test the application before I headed to the track. I followed the suggestion in the instructions and used the CG-Lock at slightly less than absolute tightness for the 2+ hour drive to the track. The increased stability was a benefit even for highway driving.
Even in the performance seats of an M3, the reduction in movement and sliding was immediately evident. On the track at speed, the CG-Lock provides a noticeable performance advantage, virtually eliminating the slipping and sliding usually encountered using stock 3-point belts. Short of a full 5 point race harness, which is fairly impractical for a street/track car without a roll bar, the CG-Lock is a vast improvement for typical performance driving schools and lapping events. I could see where it would also be an inexpensive and quick performance enhancer for autocrosses and other street competition events, especially when compared to the 4 point add-on harnesses I usually see."

"I put (the CG-Lock) in my pickup for a trip to the west side of Vancouver Island to go fishing. Now that was fun. Without my ass sliding around it made the trip way more fun since the pickup is built to play like a sports car. Then when I got home I went to a Porsche track day to play & teach. It did add to the control of the car since my butt was planted and I could shift & brake without having to brace myself. I normally have a five point harness on in the car but opted to use the CG-Lock. By adding the dimension of body control by the CG-Lock I felt comfortable under hard braking & fast car maneuvers. Thank you for a great product. Now I need to get one for the pickup full time. And, I will be recommending them to the drivers I teach. Especially the Corvette owners, since their seat belts are so lame. Thanks again."

"I had driven the car up from Atlanta, and the first thing I noticed about the product was the lack of fatigue I experienced on the ride home. I see a chiropractor for lower back issues, and my back did not bother me at all during the ride home. I have now logged over 5000 road miles with the CG-Lock with similar results. I attribute this to maintaining better posture over the course of these long trips as my hips do not slide forward, causing me to slouch in the seat.
While it has proven to have an unexpected benefit during road use, the CG-Lock really shows it’s value on the autocross course. I have been very pleased with additional support it provides during an autocross run. Most importantly, I am able to quickly get in and out of the device while swapping drivers between runs. While a harness would offer additional support in the shoulder area, it would do so at the expense of additional weight, more restricted movement where I don’t want it, and a pain in the butt when it comes time to switch drivers.
During the National Championships in Topeka this year, I was in a very small run group. Having a co-driver in the car meant that we were down to the minimum allowed time of 5 minutes between runs. During that 5 minutes we had to swap drivers, adjust air pressure, spray down tires, and change numbers. I know I would not have been able to accomplish this in the allotted 5 minutes if I had to fumble with pulling a harness on and off. During that critical 5 minutes it is very important to me that I have a moment of peace to concentrate on what I want to accomplish during the next run. The CG-Lock gives me the support I need to drive well and the ease of use to focus on the task at hand. Thanks for making a great product."

“Finally had a chance to try (the CG-Lock) just this past weekend. Installation was very easy since I switched it between two cars an M3 and a Mazda RX. Took about 8 minutes to figure it out the first time and about thirty seconds switching between cars. Pretty intuitive even without the instructions. M3 has leather seats. Previously always a problem with my butt slipping on the tracks. Nice secure feeling making not only heal and toe easier but clutch work much less straining since I didn’t have to constantly brace myself on every turn. Surprisingly, it made the biggest difference in the Mazda. The Mazda has cloth covered "racing" type aftermarket seats, so I thought slipping would be much less. Without the CG-Lock, the Mazda was just a little better than the M3 in terms of bracing myself. However with the GC-lock, the Mazda came alive. The combo of racier cloth seats with a tight belt made the learning curve of going faster drop much more precipitously in the Mazda than the M3. The cars are surprisingly pretty evenly matched due to the mods on the Mazda, however the feel of each is night and day different. The Mazda was twitchy where the M3 was smooth. This translated to a great need for a seat of the pants feel that the CG-lock amplified. If you don’t have or want full belts, then the CG-Lock is a must. This should be on top of the Tuner Crowd’s list of top "must haves" way before that trick muffler. Great product that gives a huge bang for the buck in helping you drive fast and IN CONTROL.”

"I was at Buttonwillow Raceway this past weekend. I’ve been tracking my car at this same track for four years now although about three years ago I installed a set of Scroth four point harnesses for both passenger and driver. I tried the CG Lock and found it quite easy to install and use. I installed it in a matter of seconds just before the instructor orientation laps. It was a good thing too because that morning I didn’t feel like setting up my Scroth harnesses. In fact, once I got the CG Lock cinched down and was on track, I found that I didn’t really need to use the harnesses! I ended up using the CG Lock all weekend. Great product!"

"I’m a real track day animal and this CG-Lock is straight from drivers heaven. After running my M3 with its standard running gear I decided it was time for something a little more interesting. The powerplant from an 850i was the chosen dish of the day. This has given me the ultimate weapon at track events. The only real downside has been that as its my everyday ride I can’t fit harnesses, they are just not practical for me. Dean supplied me with a complimentary CG-Lock to try out on the circuit and I honestly couldn’t believe how different it felt having some decent support. I will no longer go home with the obligatory bruises on my left knee and right elbow from a hard day at the races. Very trick!!"

"I got my CG-Lock at Rockingham Raceway during the 30th birthday celebrations for the BMW E30. Having run the car for most of the morning using the standard seatbelt, I had become very aware of the amount of sliding around I was doing on the not over supportive leather seats. After just a few minutes and a few pounds later I was held in the seat by this new CG-Lock lapbelt system, it is worth its weight in gold as far as I’m concerned. Both myself and my son felt much more in control of what we where doing on the circuit and will be recommending this neat accessory to our track day colleagues from now on."

"First up – I’m just real happy to still be here! I was the same as (I suspect) the majority of your customers – I bought the CG-Lock to give me much better control when ‘driving quickly’. I’ll be very honest, and tell you that the safety benefits of the device did not cross my mind. I agree with the feedback already on (the web) site – it makes a HUGE difference to seated control when driving enthusiastically.
However – my view of the benefits of the device are now significantly changed (or specifically – ‘added to’). I would NEVER do a track day again in a car that did not have either a full harness or CG-Lock device. The safety benefits are massive – which I now realise. (You add that to the performance of (own) body control – and the purchase is a ‘no brain’ decision.) "

"A funny thing happened on the way back from a track day… my M3 and I hit a patch of ice on the road and ended up shiny side down in a ditch. The shoulder belt was loose, but my “CG-Lock”ed lap belt held me tightly in the seat, ass over teakettle. You say the CG-Lock is not a “safety device” but it sure helped to be held securely while I was figuring out how to get out of the car. Thanks!"

"They’re fantastic - especially if you change cars regularly and don’t want to fit harnesses!! I hit the barrier in a VI RS at a tremendous speed and rolled it at Oulton Park. The car twisted / turned and rolled like a rollercoaster, ending up some 200 mts from the impact. As you can see the roof was dented in by quite a few inches just where my head was. Luckily I had the CG-Lock on, which held me firmly into the seat while the car was rolling - especially as i’m 6′ 4". I’m lucky to have walked away with cuts & bruises but i’m sure I would have had much worse injuries had it not been for the CG-Lock."
