Scott Stringfellow

ARDS Qualified Professional Driver

Scott StringfellowARDS Instruction logo.Scott Stringfellow is a different type of ARDS qualified professional driver! He is one of a special group of drivers that drive out on the circuit in the safety car when the A1 Grand prix or BTCC race get a problem!!

Scott is driving Ferraris and Porsches this season and has to ensure that his driving is on top form in this difficult and potentially dangerous job. “The drivers in the cars behind are pumped up and eager to race and so coming out in front of them in a standard road car with cold tyres can be a challenge…” says Scott, known affectionately to his mates as ‘The String’.

As the safety car driver with the British Touring Car Championship, its’ support races, and the A1 Grand Prix, being at-one with the car is very important to me. All my safety cars are fitted with normal seat belts, and the extra stability the the CG-Lock provides is a great help when leading a field of racing cars around the tracks at speed.Scott Stringfellow

The cars Scott drives, although very fast are unmodified road cars and therefore have standard seat belts fitted… so Scott uses the CG-Lock to get him the extra control needed without wrecking his back.

Scott has put two devices on his Renault Megane R26 and the Seat Leon FR. He says "a great help being as the seats are good for road use, but no real firm placing on track."

Look out for Scott on ITV during the BTCC series… and see him at the track on YouTube!
