Is it safe to use on a seatbelt?
A recent study by McCoy & Chou from the Ford Motor Company demonstrated that in their rollover simulation using anthropomorphic test devices (ATDs, or commonly known as ‘crash test dummies’) that standard inertia seatbelts do not stop the head from making contact with the interior of the vehicle roof. They concluded that visible ATD neck compression was seen and that pre-tensioning devices did not change this finding.
