Jorge Calado

In April 2006 after turning 18, Jorge decided to come to the United Kingdom to pursuit a big dream. Leaving family and friends behind, had to start a whole new life with his focus locked on his main goal:

To become a professional race car driver.

"I never thought I would become so obsessed with racing. It completely took over me, which is odd since I don’t have any familiar background related to Motorsport in the slightest…I guess it was just natural."

Since coming to the UK Jorge has been a very successful person both socially and professionally.

It took him close to a year to finally start racing, and much sacrifice was needed but the results speak for
themselves. Jorge has finished 5th overall in the “MR2 Challenge” in his UK Motorsport debut season.

"I was hoping to make a good impression in my first racing season in the UK and I think all things considered, it was not a bad year at all…"

In 2008, Jorge was unfortunately unable to race for a full season due to being injured in an accident whilst instructing at Cadwell Park earlier on in the year. Still, after a good recuperation, Jorge went on to take part in the renowned Britcar Silverstone 24h race with great results.

With a relentless will power and the right fighting spirit Jorge aspires to be the first ever Portuguese driver to take part in the British Touring Car Championship…

For 2009 there are already many projects on the pipeline so don’t for get to watch this space!…

Jorge uses the CG-Lock for his student training and recommends it to all performance drivers who do not have a full harness (and roll cage) fitted.

"As a racing driver and a professional instructor at Palmersport, I know the importance of having a full racing harness, but often I have to give tuition to my guests in they’re own private day-to-day cars which understandably are not equiped with full racing harness. This needn’t be a problem as, thanks to the CG-Lock and how easy it is to transport and fit to any car, it’s easy to replicate that “secure in your seat” feeling, that allows you to concentrate on everything else that matters and not worry about being chucked around in the car.

The feedback you get from the car is highly improved. It’s pretty much like carrying a full harness in your pocket!

I recomend it to all my mentees, friends, family and everyone out there who takes their driving and their safety seriously, and/or has kids.

The CG-Lock is too good not to have!"
