Eunan sums up his view of the CG-Lock after many thousands of miles of use:

Eunan Mac Guinness"Having used a CG Lock for some months in my own road car, I have known of its abilities to hold you comfortably in place whilst cornering etc. on twisty country roads within national speed limits. As it says in the information & advertising, it is “Occupant Stability Equipment” when used correctly, in conjunction with the primary restraint system….ie the seat belt.

As someone who has suffered from a bad back in the past (and is a manual Handling instructor) I am well aware how easy it is to “put your back out” getting in & out of cars, I also find the device helps with posture in the car in that it helps keep your back straight, because it’s not fighting with your hips to support/oppose the vehicle movement.

Eunan Mac Guinness“Having now used it as an “on-track Instructor” from the passenger seat, I can see even more benefits, in that it holds you firmly in place when you don’t have a steering wheel to hang on to.

It stops your body sliding around in the seat (especially when it’s leather!) and you don’t have to brace yourself for corners, using your knees on the centre console or passenger door.

Heavy stops are also easier as you don’t have to brace your feet on the floor to stop yourself sliding down in the seat.

Overall, a very useful addition to the standard equipment, in these circumstances.
I would thoroughly recommend it."
