08/06/2007 - Malcolm Edeson
CG-Lock sponsor Edeson for 2007 Races incl. Nurburgring 24hr
CG-Lock are proud to be offering support for Malcolm Edeson is his 2007 Racing campaign. Malcolm, who is a top track day and race driver coach (ARDS level A) said of the deal "Well, CG-Lock have been supporting me in my driving seat with the CG-Lock product and now I’m pleased to say they are supporting me in my 2007 Racing Campaign".
Malcolm further commented:
"The highlights of 2007 for me will be the Nurburgring 24hr race in June and the Silverstone 24hr race in Sept. Alongside those will be the odd sprint or mini-enduro if time allows and to get me familiar with the cars."
"In the Nurburgring 24hr I shall be racing an Alfa 147 JTD run by Brunswick Racing and in the Silverstone 24hr I shall be racing a Honda Civic Type-R run by Daniels Motorsport"
Malcolm has already raced both cars, he explains:
"We ran the Alfa in the 4hr VLN race in April, the major purpose was to get some race time in the car on the awesome and terrifyingly tricky Nordschleife circuit before the upcoming 24hr race. It wasn’t a huge success I’m afraid as Turbo problems (i.e. it exploded) on the outlap stopped our race before it really began."
"I did get some seat time though as I spent most of the following day driving round on the tourist day in a road car. Really wish I’d taken my CG-Lock though as It would have helped immensely there"
"We took the Civic down to Lydden for it’s first 2007 outing and my first run in the car. It’s a great car and I was able to win my class with relative ease. I also decided I’d like to run the car in the LMA Euro Saloon event at Rockingham on 28th April. I work at the circuit and I love the venue so it was ideal. The CG-Lock/Daniels Motorsport car ran faultlessly all day and I finished 3rd in class."
And next up is?
"It’s the big one, the Nurburgring 24hr race on 9th/10th June. Probably over 280 cars in the race and over 250,000 spectators .. I can’t wait to get back there".
